Goodbye Austin, Hello El Paso

So the decisions have been made and we are off to El Paso Tx next week!  The company that Preston is working for just opened the El Paso area and apparently the guys that are there are doing super good.  Well Preston's only goal this year is to do SUPER GOOD so we are making the move.  I am actually really sad to leave Austin.  I love this city!  It just has this amazing vibe and so much to do and see.  I hope Preston and I can make it back to actually SEE the city and not just sell here.  I actually just started working again this week, my first and last week.  I forgot how crazy busy the outlet mall is! Just a little bit busier than Cache Valley.  I am unsure if I am going to keep working when we get to El Paso.  I am taking a little trip up to Utah for a couple family vacations in June and July.  And since it took so long to get me working this time . . . who knows if it's worth it.  And I will finally have a buddy! My sister is coming down for 2 weeks and I am super excited to party with her! Also our friend Colby is getting married and his wife will be joining the Texas party.  I am so excited to have a pool/shopping buddy. :)

We are also way excited to get out off this hotel!!! And actually unpack our many much things.  We are still living out of boxes.  The only thing I am not looking forward to is repacking the car! Ah! I hope it all fits again!  At least this is a semi short drive.

So last week I decided I would try my hand at selling.  I went out with the boys for the whole day.  Mostly I just followed Preston around and handed out the company magnets when I was told to. It was awfully hot and sorta boring but not terrible.  I can see how it would get really depressing though.  There is a possibility that you could work all day in the hot sun and not earn a dime!  It takes endurance and a positive attitude! Preston is a fabulous sells person and I learned a bunch from him.  Too bad I am too much of a worse to ever do it myself.  He really wanted me to pitch a door but everytime I started, I got stuck and then would look over at him... usually right in the middle of a sentence! Ha.  I really think I would be fine if I went out a few more times.  It was super fun to spend the day with the hubby though and I am now more appreciative of what he does everyday so that I can go shopping!

Home Sweet Extended Stay

Just some more Texas updates . . . Life is going well.  Preston is still doing well selling and I am still being a supportive wife, not always happy but supportive.  I am excited that I am going to be coming home for a few weeks in June for a couple family vacations.
We enjoy our weekends together! Last week we went to Rudy's and enjoyed their deliciousness.  The boys have especially enjoyed all the NBA finals games going on right now.  This is what usually occupies our nights, weekends and Sundays.  At least they are almost over.  This last weekend Preston and I decided to go see Angels and Demons and we both really liked it!  It is super expensive these days to go to the movies... but we decided to spend an extra 20 bucks by driving right though a toll booth on the toll road! Yeah we were pretty upset at ourselves for that one.  We were just following the GPS, which is supposed to stay away from all toll roads but apparently that didn't happen. So we will just wait for the ticket to come in the mail . . . we are hoping it's not more than 20 dollars.

Preston's TRUE love.  Seriously.

We LOVE Rudy's.  Me and Colby are super excited to eat yummy creamed corn!  This is the only creamed corn I have ever enjoyed in my whole life.  It is honestly corn in cream! DIVINE!

The other morning Preston and I were suddenly awoken by a loud pounding on our door followed by "HOUSEKEEPING!".  Preston rolled over to me and said "Home sweet home, huh?"  The Extended Stay is still our home for the next couple weeks.  These pictures hardly do it justice but here it is!

The joys of Texas life

Preston and I have been enjoying the Texas sun for a week.  Currently though we are living in an extended stay hotel which has put a slight damper on the fun.  It honestly hasn't been too bad, I just like to complain.  I had a vision of how Texas life would go and so far it hasn't been fulfilled.  We should be in an apartment in the next couple weeks after some decisions are made.
We really do love Texas though and we are looking forward to what the summer will bring.  Preston hits the doors everyday but Sunday for about 8 hours.  He has been doing SO WELL! I am super proud of him.  He was so worried that he wouldn't be able to keep up his pace from last year but so far he is doing better! We have had to change our schedule to accommodate the working schedule.  Preston usually gets home around 10, we eat dinner and usually get to bed way later than we would like.  But since we have nothing happening in the morning it all works out.  I have had a pretty slow week and it would have been quite boring but I have been hanging out with Preston's boss's wife and their two little girls.  Love them.  She has been so nice to let me follow them around to all their errands.  I have also had time to read, write this blog, watch movies, lay out . . . all the things I couldn't do during school.  Yet the only thing I want to be doing is study.  It is so weird to have all this free time with nothing pressing to do.  I had to leave all my books home . . . the care was quite full.  I am going to be working at Aeropostale in an outlet mall starting in about a week.  It will help to rid the boredom.
I am happy to be here with my Preston.  He is so good to me and keeps me as happy as possible.  I am looking forward to our date night tonight . . . We are hitting Rudy's! Everyone in the world needs to eat at Rudy's once in their life.  It is our favorite!

Texas Here We Come . . . AGAIN!

We finally arrived in Austin, Tx this afternoon after many days of driving.  We drove to Springville on thursday to meet up with a friend and started driving friday morning at 3 in the AM.  At about 1030 the car trouble started.  Our friend's car started smoking and we pulled off to see what we could do.  It ended up having to be taken into a shop and get fixed, taking till about 3 PM.  In the mean while, we were exhausted. Preston fell asleep on some playground equipment, while I painted my nails.  We had some lunch, waited, made some friends with a few spanish kids and attempted to give licorice to a homeless man.  When our journey was able to start again, Preston and I were able to drive to Roswell, NM.  We stayed in the nastiest place ever . . . there was seriously mouse poop by the toilet.  But it was super cheap and we were really only there a few hours.  The drive today was pretty uneventful.  I learned that Texans will pull of the road to allow you to pass and it made me wonder why we don't do this in Utah.  We made it to Austin this afternoon after stopping by a sweet mall in Bee Cove (actual name of town).  We are currently staying at a hotel until our apartment is ready for us.  We are exhausted, sick of eating out and I honestly don't want to get in the car again for at least another 12 hours . . . But it's warm here so I am pretty happy!
