Good Things to Come

This hit just a little too close to home for me not to share it. I am so thankful for the "good things to come" after the trial of our faith. I know the Lord blesses us as we endure through challanges in this life. "It will be alright in the end. Trust God and believe in good things to come" -Elder Holland

Not the same woman he married!

Preston and I celebrated 2 years of wedded bliss just yesterday. It has hard to believe that two years has passed already and that we just continue to love each other more. We spent a fabulous day together, mostly comprised of nothingness. We made breakfast together and spent some time wondering at Summerfest and listening to awesome bands, eating delicious food and finished the night off right... that's right, watching the Lakers win the NBA finals. The things I do for my husband.
The above photo is obviously from our wedding... June 2008. The below photo is the June 2010 Amanda... Just a little bit chunkier, but just as happy! :)

While browsing Summerfest we discovered LIMEADES! Or simply the best limeade we have ever had. So once we got home we went to town recreating (or merely creating) our own version of this delicious drink! And yes we did perfect it and may have a booth at next years event... Watch for us.

And yes we are VERY happily married! :) Love you Preston!

Baby Boy

I know this picture isn't very clear but I just had to put it out there! The arrow is pointing to "boy" and yes, that is a stream of urine... The nurse was just laughing when she showed us this on the ultrasound! "Wow, look at that! Sure is a boy! Next thing you know he will have his little hands down there..." We are getting so excited about having a little boy! He is certainly a squirmer and is constantly kicking me. Preston was able to feel him move a few weeks ago... So now he KNOWS I'm not faking it! :)

LAKE POWELL

Last week Preston and I were able to spend the week with my family down in Lake Powell... It was a wonderful get-a-way! The weather was a bit windy a few of the days but over all it was warm and sunny. We went down with some family friends who provided the house boat and 2 other boats... The Barfuss family opted to leave Old Brown at home and enjoy those boats we aren't embarrassed to claim. I am so glad that I wasn't more pregnant for this trip...The heat would have been worse and the bumpy boat rides could have put me into labor! I enjoyed laying out, tanning only my frontal as I could not lay on my stomach, and watching Preston wakeboard and tube. He was a Lake Powell virgin prior to this trip and I have complete faith in saying that we will return to the beautiful Powell. It was a week of good food, good friends, and good times!

Rainbow Bridge. Notice the beer belly... Preston made the comment "You look like those white trash girls who dress skanky and don't care that they are fat." Thanks babe.
