God gave us Families . . .

God gave us families, to help us become what he wants us to be.
This is how He shares His love.
For the family is of God.

We had our primary program today. I struggled taming the three 4-year olds I had sitting on the row next me but man when they sing I just can't help but love them. I can't wait for a little one to join our family sometime in the future. (that's not an announcement) But as for now this is our family. Poor Tye's leg in this picture . . . at least he is looking at the camera!
P.S. Check out our New Moon shirts! :)

Grandpa Chambers

Today I had the amazing opportunity to attend Preston's grandpa Chambers funeral. I know what you are thinking . . . amazing opportunity? Well that's what it was.

I didn't know grandpa Chambers very well, having only been in this family for about a year. The time that I was able to spend with him was very memorable and I wish now that it had been more. Today I realized what an amazing man he was. As with all elderly people, he had a pretty glamorous past. And because he was a very spiritual man he was inspired to write it all down. Preston and I actually own a copy of his and his wife's life history. I am so excited to read it.

I was so impressed that grandpa had his entire funeral planned out. He knew what songs he wanted song, who he wanted to speak and what he wanted to be sure was said. I was touched as four of his children spoke about his life and the things he accomplished. I am awed at the amount of people this man influenced during his life. His spirit was felt there among family and friends as his written testimony was shared from the pulpit.

So I secretly made a little vow that I would try harder to be a little better. The choices I make today will most definitely influence my future; not only mine but my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren (Yep, I will live that long!) I want people to know that I have a testimony. So I will try my hardest to stand up for what I believe in and share the gospel with those around me. I want people to know that I love my husband. So I will tell him I love him everyday and that I was lucky to spend another day with him. (even if he didn't do anything for my birthday!)

So thank you grandpa Chambers. I learned a lot from you today.

Quick Life Recap

Wow. It's been a while. Life just got too crazy! And we don't have the internet at our house so that also makes things a little complicated. School is going strong as ever and we sure enjoy the weekends. We can't wait for life to slow down a little . . Christmas break for instance is going to be FABULOUS! We have a cruise planned with our bestest buds, the Stevensons, and then we are headed to Florida with my family for a week over Christmas. We only have a month left before the vacations begin . . . let's hope we make it!

These are just a few of the exciting adventures we have encountered over the last couple months. . .

I dragged Preston to the homecoming dance at USU. And he actually LIKED it! He wasn't much of a dancer go-er in high school so this was a new experience for him. We had a great time with the Smedley's. Yay for dressing up!

We went to Snow Patrol with our favorite people, Jen and Dave (Preston's sister and her husband). Jen gets free tickets to all the big concerts this year because she is amazing so she shared them with us. It was a really good concert and a fun night out.

Preston played on a football team and a softball team this fall. I spent many hours wrapped up in a blanket being supportive. He LOVED playing and he is really a good little athlete. Good job honey!

I LOVE carving pumpkins! So spur of the moment with got it taken care of for the season. The Stevenson's were nice enough to let us come carve on their kitchen floor. We are the best pumpkin carvers I know.

In other news, Preston and I are almost fully recovered from the swine flu! We were both sick all last week and are now finally able to leave the house. YAY!

The Lazy Days of Summer

With summer coming to a close, I have been evaluating the past 4 months.  It has been a super weird summer and we are SO EXCITED to get back to Logan.  Who knew you could miss Logan? But we do.  Drastically.  I am the most excited to get back into a routine and be BUSY!  I have never been so bored in all my life as I have the past few months.  I know, I know- "I should find something productive to do with my time!".  Believe me, Preston has told me that everyday that I have a breakdown.  But it is a lot easier said then done.  And I have accomplish some things that I wanted to this summer-- I finally got around to painting my board for my sticker letters "Chambers Family", I have cooked many a new recipe and I have a REALLY great tan.  Yeah.  That about sums it up.  Oh and don't forget watching every movie we brought down plus most of the 99 cent movies at Blockbuster, and reading a book or 10.  I know once school starts I am going to look back at these 4 months and say "Wow, wish I would have done this" or "should have done that when I had all that free time"...  But I am the type of person that accomplishes much more when I have much more to accomplish.  I can't even get up the motivation to clean these days, but during school I somehow do it all.  I like being busy.  I like checking things off lists.  So I have come up with a plan to help me STUDY the last few weeks of summer... Fun, right?!  I have a Star Studier sticker chart!  Each day for the rest of the semester, starting now, I have to study for AT LEAST 2 hours to get a sticker.  Now I know this sounds awfully like a 5 year old motivation technique but hey it works!  I haven't quite decided what my reward will be for each week that is sticker filled... but it will be something GOOD!
